The Catherine the Great Design" ~ This hand-painted teaset is the most famous in Russian porcelain. It is superb and elegant and would make any person feel like Russian royalty. The pattern, sometimes called "Cobalt Net," was inspired by the luxurious dining sets going back to the time of Empress Catherine II, who reigned in Russia from 1762 to 1796. This fine porcelain has been the exclusive design of the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg for more than half a century.
The porcelain is white and the decorative pattern in a mixture of finely-painted genuine mineral cobalt and 22 karat gold.
The fine gold painting extends to the interior rims of the creamer and sugar dish.
The cream and sugar measure 3.5" x 4.5" each.
