Drink your yerba mate from this traditional dried gourd. The dried gourd or "mate" is raw and ready for seasoning on the inside and beautifully decorated on the outside. The rim is lined with stainless steel. Also included is the cleanable/stainless steel silver straw, which is called a "bombilla." Although we confuse the terms in the US, "mate" refers to the vessel, and "yerba mate" refers to the drink. Passing around the mate is a part of Argentine culture.
